The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery (OMB)

When The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery first opened its doors in 2009, it was Charlotte’s only local brewery. Years later, this local institution has won fans from near and far for its authentic German-style beer, and is now the largest locally owned craft brewhouse in North Carolina. Sample the handcrafted brews in the 8-acre Biergarten, grab some soft German pretzels and Currywurst at the Brauhaus. Don’t forget to sign up for a free brewery tour (held Saturdays & Sundays at 2, 3, and 4 PM).

The Billy Graham Library

This 40,000 square foot museum and library documents the life and ministry of evangelist Billy Graham. It also includes a bookstore, dairy bar, and memorial prayer garden. The museum/library is open Monday – Saturday, all year-round.

Charlotte Museum of History

Included on the National Register of Historic Places, the Charlotte Museum of History is the steward of the 1774 Hezekiah Alexander Home Site - the oldest surviving house in Mecklenburg Country. The museum also features a log kitchen that was reconstructed on the foundations of the home’s original kitchen as well as a reconstruction of the 1774 Springhouse. Inside the museum itself, visitors can explore exhibitions the detail the neighborhoods, culture, and citizens of Charlotte from its time as an early settlement through the modern era.
