Practical Information for your next visit to Colombia

Before you visit Colombia, there are several things you need to know in order to have a hassle-free vacation:

The national sales tax (19%) is charged upon check-out to citizens of Colombia regardless of the length of stay and to foreigners staying 60 consecutive days or more.

Foreign visitors and Colombian citizens currently living outside Colombia are tax-exempt (19% VAT) when receive a PIP3, PIP5, PIP6, PIP10, TP7, TP11 stamp or TP12 visa upon entry to the country.

Exemption only applies to room package rates (accommodations plus service). Permit must be shown upon arrival.

Furthermore, the tax may apply per room when the room is shared by a taxable and a nontaxable guest.

This tax is not automatically calculated in the total cost of the reservation.
