In 2025, the New Orleans Marriott has continued to make a meaningful impact in the community. So far this year, 66 volunteers have dedicated 471 hours to various local projects. The hotel has also contributed $6,150 in cash donations and provided $16,000 in in-kind donations. These efforts underscore the Marriott's ongoing commitment to supporting and uplifting the New Orleans community.
- Donated 1200 boxed lunches and 1200 sodas for the March Gladness homeless event lead by Hotel Associate
- The Good Shepherd School assists at-risk low-income youth, educating them on life skills. The school will host its 22nd Annual Golf Tournament to raise money for the school. The New Orleans Marriott is donated a full lunch for 150 players.
- New Orleans Police Officers were assigned to work throughout downtown New Orleans and the French Quarter throughout Mardi Gras weekend February 28-March 4. The New Orleans Marriott donated 120 hot meals to the 8th District NYPD officers on Friday, February 28.
- Donated 20 full size pans of food to St. Joseph Baptist Church to feed the homeless
- Donated 50 pans of food to Behold the Lamb ministries to distribute to the homeless in New Orleans
2024
In 2024, the New Orleans Marriott made remarkable contributions to the community. With 261 volunteers dedicating a total of 2,161 hours, the Marriott's team worked tirelessly to support local initiatives. The hotel also donated $23,400 in cash and provided $56,350 in in-kind donations, showcasing its unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in New Orleans throughout the year.
- DHR, Exec Sous Chef and Sous Chef participated in the University of New Orleans annual hospitality showcase. Over 400 high school students participated in the job fair and cooking demonstration
- The Executive Secretary works year-round soliciting and planning our annual CMN Silent Auction and Golf tournament and spends approximately 20 hour per week performing these activities which generate approximately $175,000 in funds give to the local hospital each year.
- Feed the Need. Coordinated through the Greater New Orleans Hotel Lodging Association, the New Orleans Marriott donates meals to the New Orleans Mission twice a year. The Mission is a faith based homeless shelter ad outreach organization whose mission is to provide essential support to New Orleans' men, women and children who are homeless, hurting and hungry.
- Donated 300 box lunches to the local homeless shelter
- Hosted a group of 40 Bonnabel High School and Delgado Community College students for a property tour and panel Q&A
- The New Orleans Marriott falls under the New Orleans Police Department's 8th District. The hotel donated Dinner comprised of 100 hot meals for police officers working in downtown New Orleans over Mardi Gras Weekend. Specific date was Friday, February 9. Mardi Gras attracts thousands of visitors annually and police officers work extended hours. These meals are coordinated by the Greater New Orleans Hotel Lodging Association.
- From January 1, 2024 to November 13, 2024 the hotel has donated 98 complimentary nights to various charitable organizations and customers and clients in support of their charitable fund raising efforts primarily to combat serious diseases and protecting at risk children.
- The hotel coordinated a Silent Auction held on November 8, 2024 followed by a Golf Tournament held on November 11, 2024. Starting on January 1 through October 31 our hotel did in-kind trades with Marriott Brand Hotels (total of 98 complimentary nights) for use as auction and golf prizes with all proceeds going to Children's Hospital of New Orleans. These certificates included upgraded guestrooms, breakfast and parking.
